CORBIN — By Samantha Swindler / Managing Editor
A Whitley County ambulance carrying a patient was involved in a minor wreck at the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and Third Street Friday night.
According to Corbin Police Lt. Rob Jones, a vehicle driven along Third Street by 27-year-old Amanda Gilreath of Corbin crossed into the path of the ambulance, which was traveling on Kentucky Avenue.
The ambulance sustained minor damage to its front bumper, while Gilreath’s car sustained damage to the passenger side.
Neither Gilreath nor her two children passengers received medical treatment after the wreck.
A Knox County ambulance arrived on scene to take the original patient to Baptist Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the ambulance, Melissa Lickliter, was taken by a third ambulance to BRMC after complaining of back pain, Jones said.
The original ambulance involved in the wreck was driven off scene.
