Five people face federal charges after an ongoing federal investigation into oxycodone distribution in this area.
Christopher Smallwood, 39, of Corbin, Richard Burns, 35, of East Bernstadt, Autumn Luster, 31, of London, Melvin Eugene Mounts, 35, of Corbin, and Marion Farris, 53, of Lily, were all arrested and jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Laurel County Sheriff John Root said detectives Jason Back and Brad Mitchell, in conjunction with the London office of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) indicted these five suspects into federal court.
Few details are available at this time, as the investigation continues. More arrests are expected.
All five suspects face charges of conspiracy to distribute oxycodone.
