Tornado warnings, watches in effect for Tri-County
At 5:11 p.m. Friday a tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Jackson for Southeast Whitley County, Bell County and South Central Knox County.
The warning is in effect until 6 p.m.
At 5:08 p.m. doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Gatliff, 10 miles southeast of Williamsburg. It was moving to the east at 40 miles per hour.
Locations that could be affected include Pineville, Arjay, Balkan, Binghampton and Birdseye.
This storm may produce hail and straight line winds uup to 60 miles per hour.
A tornado watch is in effect until midnight in southeast Kentucky.
