CORBIN —
Three Woodbine residents were arrested Wednesday evening for manufacturing methamphetamine, one of whom now faces two charges of attempted murder, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Department.
Police said when they attempted to enter the Corbin home, Ronnie Taylor, 28, threw a one-step meth lab at two officers. Taylor was arrested as was Deborah Hackler, 40, and Cleveland Gibson, 31.

BOSTON (AP) — Two explosions shattered the euphoria of the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday, sending authorities out on the course to carry off the injured while the stragglers in the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton were rerouted away from the smoking site of the blasts.
Competitors and race organizers were crying as they fled the chaos. Bloody spectators were being carried to the medical tent that had been set up to care for fatigued runners.

Seven confirmed dead in Saturday fire

Seven persons — a man, a woman and five children — perished Saturday morning in a house fire on Sam Parker Road in the Gray community in Knox County.
As of Saturday afternoon, the names of those who died were not identified and have not been confirmed. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene by Knox County Coroner Mike Blevins. -
