CORBIN —
Special to The Times-Tribune
As the new school year quickly approaches, Dr. Elizabeth Rice Christopher finds herself making yet another late-summer transition to Williamsburg. But this time Dr. Christopher, a 2006 graduate of the University of the Cumberlands, has been unpacking boxes a few blocks away from the college dorms that she once called home as she and her husband, Dr. Matthew Christopher, open a chiropractic practice at 412 Sycamore Street.
Dr. Matthew Christopher began seeing patients in their Williamsburg office Aug. 3. He practiced in South Carolina and in Prestonsburg before relocating to Williamsburg in 2010. He has received extensive training in Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique and he has eight years of experience teaching people about chiropractic and healthy lifestyle in groups and on radio. He also speaks fluent Spanish.
Dr. Elizabeth Rice Christopher, a Leslie County native, is currently practicing in Hazard and plans to join her husband in the Williamsburg practice in early October. After graduating from the University of the Cumberlands with a degree in biology, she completed her chiropractic education at Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, S.C. She has received extensive training in Gonstead Chiropractic technique and in Gonstead adjusting of the joints of the arms and legs.
Christopher Chiropractic offers a full range of chiropractic services including traditional chiropractic adjustments, chiropractic treatments with the low-force Activator and ArthroStim adjusting instruments, rehabilitative exercises, massage, intersegmental traction tables and electrical muscle stimulation.
The doctors will also provide community education programs in the office and at local businesses on topics such as proper lifting technique, computer ergonomics and backpack safety. Additionally, Dr. Matt has partnered with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and Safe Kids Worldwide to conduct child seat inspections in our community.
Contact their office at 606-549-4811 for additional information, to schedule an office tour or to make an appointment.
