Sofcoast, Inc. names Swanson executive vice president
Sofcoast, Inc., whose corporate headquarters is located at 100 N. Main Street, Suite 201, Corbin, is announced that Scott Swanson, originally from Minnesota, has joined the Sofcoast team as executive vice president effective June 20. Within this role, Swanson will be leading business development, program management and government programs for the corporation.

Hospital system merger to be examined by state’s attorney general
After three Kentucky hospital groups agreed in the middle of June to merge, the state’s attorney general Jack Conway announced Wednesday he will review that pending merger. The hospital groups are Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), Louisville’s University Hospital and Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare.

The Heart Clinic of Southeast Kentucky, (affiliated with Premier Heart & Vascular), Corbin Nuclear Cardiology, located in Corbin, was granted re-accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL).

Equivalent of 117 let go at Corbin hospital
The equivalent of 59 full-time employees were notified Monday that they were part of Baptist Regional Medical Center’s reduction in workforce. The total workforce reduction at the hospital, which began April 1, turned out to be the equivalent of 117 workers.
