Special to the Times-Tribune
The Corbin Public Library is partnering with Corbin Main Street this summer to help the community learn about historical places around Corbin through a photo scavenger hunt.
Every Wednesday for the next six weeks, a different photo clue will be posted in the library. In addition, the photo will be posted in the Tuesday’s edition of The Times-Tribune.
This clue will lead you to a local place that has some type of historical background. You will then have one week to figure out where this place is. Once you figure it out, come to the library, write down the place and enter for a prize drawing that will be held at the end of Summer Reading.
All entries must be turned in by close of business on the following Wednesday. This contest is open to anyone but families of Corbin Public Library employees or Board of Trustees.
The grand prize basket to be given out at the end of the scavenger hunt will include: Tri-County Cineplex movie passes, a $25 gift certificate from Alley Stuff, a gift from S&J; Jewelry, a $25 gift certificate from Gibson’s Music, a print of your choice from Alan Galleries Historic Corbin, a $25 gift certificate from Moonbow Coffeehouse, two tickets to an upcoming event at The Arena, a $20 gift certificate from Vittorino’s, a $25 gift certificate from The Depot, and a $25 gift certificate from Game King.

First Priority
The first priority of First Priority is accepting and sharing the word of God... but goofy teenage fun might come in second.
- It begins with a bucket of paint The former First United Methodist Church and current home of McBurney’s Designs is up for sale.
- Lawmakers confront bleak budget picture The word coming out of Tuesday’s Democratic House caucus retreat is that a few lawmakers are shocked — SHOCKED — they’re going to be facing a lean budget session when they come to Frankfort in January.
- Holiday Headaches It looks as if the Christmas/Holiday season is getting revved up already.
