KAED president to speak to Chamber
Mike Mangeot, President and CEO of the Kentucky Association for Economic Development, and formerly the Kentucky Industrial Development Council will be the guest speaker at the Corbin Chamber of Commerce luncheon Tuesday, April 15. KAED is a private, non-profit association whose mission is to provide educational and training opportunities for the economic development profession in Kentucky.
Prior to becoming President and CEO of KAED, Mangeot served as Deputy Commissioner and Director of Marketing and Advertising for the Kentucky Department of Travel. He also previously served as Associate Athletic Director for Advancement at the University of Louisville and was Director of Advertising and Community Affairs for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kentucky.
Mangeot is a member of the International Economic Development Council, the Southern Economic Development Council and serves on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Tourism Council and the Kentucky Manufacturing Assistance Center.
He lives in Frankfort with his wife Kathy and daughters Jessica and Katherine.

Buckets of Hope for Haiti
More than 50 volunteers gathered in the parking lot of Central Baptist Church in Corbin Sunday to assemble buckets of food to be shipped to earthquake victims in Haiti.

Not only did the children at St. Camillus Academy watch “Out of the Mist...a Dragon” performed at the Conway Boatman Chapel at Union College in Barbourville on March 11, they also got to attend a special puppetry workshop given by the puppeteers from the Wood and Strings Theatre from Centerville, Tenn.
