CORBIN — Special to The Times-Tribune
April is Fair Housing Awareness Month and to promote Fair Housing Awareness, KCEOC Community Action Partnership will conduct a “My Home, My Design” project. From April 1-15, a team of KCEOC’s Workforce Investment Act (WIA) In-School Youth Program participants will design and decorate birdhouses to represent one of the basic human needs- housing. Once completed, these birdhouses will be donated to the senior housing population of Sowders and Mixon Manors.
To prepare this team of youth for the awareness project, KCEOC’s Rental Services Coordinator, Marilyn Coffey, will conduct a Fair Housing Awareness session to help them become more familiar with The Fair Housing Act. This session will be at 3:30 p.m. March 29 at KCEOC’s WIA Office (464 Court Square, Barbourville).
