Cumberland Falls, sports and NIBROC are among the favorite themes to emerge from a contest that aims to celebrate Corbin.
Dozens of Corbin Independent Schools students have created art works based on “What I love about Corbin.”
Angela Smith, a Corbin Middle School art teacher, said the contest was open to grades K-12. Artwork from the top 40 finalists will be displayed during a public reception at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Hometown Bank, 1030 Cumberland Falls Hwy., Corbin.
On Monday, art teachers from the district will select the top winners and Corbin Mayor Willard McBurney will also choose the “Mayor’s Choice” winner.
Winners will receive prizes during the reception, Smith said. The artwork will remain on display at the bank throughout Valentine’s Day week and visitors can vote to help select the “community choice” award.
