Special to The Times-Tribune
The Fine Arts Association of Southeastern Kentucky, Inc. presents “The Nutcracker” by The Lexington Ballet at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Corbin High School Auditorium.
Founded in 1975, The Lexington Ballet’s mission is to educate and entertain dance enthusiasts of Central Kentucky and Appalachia.
The Lexington Ballet presents classical and new ballet repertoire in Lexington and surrounding areas. The LBC School trains over 120 students in classical ballet and modern dance. Forty-seven students from the Gail Frederick School of Dance in Corbin will be participating in this performance.
Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” has enjoyed enormous popularity since the mid-20th century and is now performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in the U.S.
This performance is co-sponsored by Anne K. Hoskins.
Individual tickets for the show can be purchased for $30 for adults, $10 for students at the door.
