Readers should have decided Alley Oop’s fate

Once again you have confirmed that the Times-Tribune is published for the pleasure of the staff, rather than for the paying public. Obviously, you were not listening when you summarily canceled Alley Oop the first time and were shouted down. You say Oop does not make sense, implying that the other comic strips do, and must, make sense. I suggest you save that attitude for the rest of the paper, and let the subscribers decide what is entertaining and what should be removed. I, for one, will be voting with my feet, by canceling the renewal commitment I made just last week.

You should remember that the Lexington Herald Leader passed the choice of comics on to the subscribers.

This latest arbitrary decision just adds to my displeasure over your persistent refusal to publish the schedules for KET and the satellite channels, while favoring the networks and the cable channels.

In fairness, I will say I like Dilbert. I just do not agree with your arbitrarily deciding for us.

It will be interesting to see whether you publish this and the other opinions I feel sure you will receive.
