CORBIN —
Thank you, Times-Tribune, for helping us get the word out for Fur Ever Friends Inc.’s Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic held Nov. 3rd. You enabled us to reach pet owners who otherwise could not afford this very important service. We are grateful for the generosity of C.C.C. (Come-Unity Cooperative Care) in London for welcoming us to their wonderful facility.
In just one day we served 117 animals!
Woodstock Animal Foundation, a non-profit organization, brings skilled veterinary surgical teams to communities such as ours that suffer from high stray cat and dog problems. They were able to perform this service in our Tri-County area at lower cost in partnership with three dozen unpaid Fur Ever Friends’ volunteers who donated grueling hours of time and labor for logistical support such as outreach, registration, set up, recovery, cleanup and laundry.
According to University of Washington research, each unspayed cat will yield 400 surviving offspring in her lifetime. So if you do the math, the 33 cat spays performed Nov. 3 at our clinic prevented the birth of 13,200 potential stray animals!
Shelley Goldbloom,
Fur Ever Friends Inc. clinic coordinator

Who was the writer of the NIBROC letter?
Both local newspapers had letters to the Editor attributed to the “Southern Kentucky Chamber Of Commerce Board Of Directors.” I immediately remembered Abbot and Costello’s famous question in their 1942 Movie, “Who done it?”

March is Sexual Assault Awareness Month
How many times have you have turned on the television, logged on to the internet, picked up the newspaper, or turned on the radio to learn there has been another incident of sexual violence in your community? How many people do you know and love who have been affected either directly or indirectly by just one incident of sexual violence?
