California sixth grader needs your help

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — Dear residents of Kentucky,

My name is Tori Brunk, and I am in the sixth grade. I attend Brethren Heritage School in Modesto, Calif.

We are doing state reports this year in our history class. I have chosen to do my report on your state of Kentucky.

If you should happen to read this in your local newspaper, I would greatly appreciate receiving any information or items regarding your state. You could send pictures, tourist attraction information, trivia about your state, or anything that would cause me to be more familiar with your state.

  • Disturbing trend of hyperbole in media, politics

    There is a disturbing trend of absolute hyperbole on the part of news media and political speakers. What I’m talking about is the immediate use of top shelf words like “dictator,” “fascist,” “communist,” and this really has to stop.
