Amie Hacker best choice for Senate seat

CORBIN — On Sept. 6, 2012, I was given the opportunity to chair the KEPAC committee to interview the candidates for Tom Jensen’s District 21 Senatorial seat for a possible endorsement.    

During Amie Hacker’s interview, it became clear that she is the candidate that represents the people.  She stated that we need to take care of Kentucky’s public school teachers and, as your state senator, her focus will be on making a difference for the people of Kentucky.

In Albert Robinson’s interview he stated three times that when he is in Frankfort he will vote for himself and his family first. In my opinion it seems that he will only represent himself and not the residents of Laurel, Jackson, Estill, Menifee, and Powell Counties.

On Nov. 6, we will go to the polls to choose the person best to represent us in Frankfort.  Consider the facts and choose the candidate who will look after your own economic interests. One candidate has built a road to “nowhere” while the other one’s focus, as a small business owner, is on making a difference for the people.

I believe that Amie Hacker is that person who will go to Frankfort and honor our representation rights.

  • Disturbing trend of hyperbole in media, politics

    There is a disturbing trend of absolute hyperbole on the part of news media and political speakers. What I’m talking about is the immediate use of top shelf words like “dictator,” “fascist,” “communist,” and this really has to stop.
