Fire department to host pie and cake auction

The Times-Tribune

CORBIN — Oak Grove Fire Department will have a pie and cake auction at 6 p.m. Saturday. We will also be selling the county’s best hot dogs and chili. Proceeds raised will help buy equipment for the department.

Those running for county and other offices are invited to attend and share their platforms. Current elected officials are also invited.

Come fill your stomach, take a nice cake or pie home, and gather information so you make a good decision in May.

Area residents are reminded the membership fee is only $30 annually for great coverage in any crisis, including a fire.

Thank you for your past support.

  • Disturbing trend of hyperbole in media, politics

    There is a disturbing trend of absolute hyperbole on the part of news media and political speakers. What I’m talking about is the immediate use of top shelf words like “dictator,” “fascist,” “communist,” and this really has to stop.
