It is with great pride that we recognize and congratulate our seventh and eighth grade Corbin Middle School football teams. For the second consecutive year, our talented eighth grade team advanced to the State Championship playoffs, only to be defeated by Bowling Green Middle School, the eventual state champions. Bowling Green coach Danny Davis was quoted as saying that Corbin was the only team who gave them a fight and were undoubtedly the second-best team in the state. We are proud of the way our young Hounds conducted themselves, on and off the field.
In a game full of big plays, the seventh grade team rolled to the State Championship! Not only have our boys performed well, our seventh grade cheerleaders also brought home a state championship! It is evident to see that the Redhound tradition is alive and well, and we have some exciting years of football ahead of us.
How privileged we are to live in a community that recognizes and supports our youth with such generosity. With three days to raise the funds to travel, our community came through for our boys!
