CORBIN — Times-Tribune Staff Report
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported that two children from Sevier County, Tenn., allegedly abducted by their London, Ky. father, were rescued Monday by U.S. Marshals in Montana.
Jedidiah Skees, 7, and Samantha Skees, 4, were located at the Ponderosa Lodge in Missoula, Mont., with their father, 48-year-old Clifford Leo Skees.
Clifford Skees was to return the children to their mother’s custody on Feb. 5 following the end of a scheduled visit. According to police, he never showed up.
He was charged with custodial interference and violation of a protective order.
Police reportedly acted on a citizen’s phone tip that Skees had recently attended church in Lolo, Mont.

Man died of self-inflicted wound
A 63-year-old Whitley County man, found dead Wednesday after a three-day search, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley.

Car slides off KY 11 into Disappointment Creek
About 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Mark Tidwell, of Barbourville slid on wet pavement, went off KY 11 and into Disappointment Creek, according to Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Wagner.
