CORBIN —

Readings of two ordinances, both dealing with rental property and a no parking zone, were approved during a special session of the Corbin City Commission on Monday morning.
One will go into law, upon legal publication. That’s the one establishing a no-parking zone on the north side of Roy Kidd Avenue between the bridge crossing and Christian Street.
The other one approved was the first reading of an ordinance that would amend the current business license ordinance by deleting a section relating to rent collection. A second reading is expected at a later date.
In addition, an executive session was held to discuss personnel, pending litigation and/or the sale or purchase of real property. Action was taken, with the city approving the hiring of Brad Roark, Matthew Adkins and Joshua Miller. The three will be assigned to the city’s Public Works Department.
