A 22-year-old Corbin man died in the early morning hours Monday when his car reportedly collided with a tree on North Hills Road in North Corbin, which connects American Greetings Road on the south with Old Whitley Road to the north.
According to Trooper Don Trosper, Kentucky State Police public affairs officer, Joshua Martin was pronounced dead at the scene by Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling.
Trooper Mike King investigated the incident and said Martin was driving a 2000 two-door Pontiac Sunfire northbound when he apparently lost control and the car struck a tree.
Trosper said Martin was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol involvement is suspected.
King continues the investigation and was assisted at the scene by other KSP troopers, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, West Knox fire and rescue, Laurel County EMS and Laurel County fire and rescue.
