Every girl dreams of being a princess and marrying her prince in a castle. This weekend that dream will come true for Krystal Kester as she marries Kurby McDonald in London — but the castle where they’ll be married is not the medieval kind. It’s a modern-day White Castle that’s also the place where Krystal and Kurby met about a year ago. The couple will tie the knot on Saturday, March 21, at 10 a.m., at the White Castle, located at 405 West Highway 80, in London.
Kurby was a Crew Manager at the White Castle and Krystal was a newly-hired team member. Kurby said it was love at first sight.
“Honestly, I fell in love with her as soon as she walked in the door,” he said. “I knew there was something different about her.”
While it could be said that the nuptial setting is unusual, Kurby said it feels right. White Castle restaurants have always been around him, even as a child. And since he had met Krystal at a White Castle, it made perfect sense for them to be married there too.
Immediately following Saturday’s ceremony, a reception for the couple and family will also be held at the White Castle. The wedding cake will resemble a White Castle hamburger. And guests will be treated like royalty with White Castle’s Silver Tray Service, which includes White Castle hamburgers and other favorites.
The restaurant’s dining room will be closed the morning of the wedding from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The drive-thru, however, will remain open for food service.
