A single-vehicle accident sent a Michigan woman and her young child to the Baptist Regional Medical Center.
According to a release from the Kentucky State Police, a 2003 Jeep Liberty driven by Donna R. Majewski, 37, of Temperance, Mich., was traveling southbound on Interstate 75 when it entered the median. The vehicle then went out of control and overturned on the right shoulder of the southbound lane.
According to the release, the accident occurred around 12:19 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver, Majewski, was seat-belted and her 16-month-old male child was secured in a passenger safety seat.
Majewski was transported to BRMC, as was her 16-month-old passenger. The young boy is believed to be uninjured, according to the release.
No alcohol or drug involvement is suspected in the accident.
KSP Trooper Richie Baxter responded to the scene and is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by KSP Trooper Barry Blair, the Laurel County Rescue Squad and the Laurel County Ambulance Inc.
