Times-Tribune Staff Report
Dorthy Trosper, of Woodbine, and Aisin Automotive Casting in Lily have agreed to the settlement of a discrimination suit she brought against the company in August 2008.
The suit claims that Trosper sustained an injury to her right ear because of ear plugs she was required to wear on the job.
She first entered the worker’s compensation claim through Laurel Circuit Court and the case was moved to U.S. District Court in London.
Trosper complained that she was subjected to harassment, coerced, discriminated against and even fired as a result of her injury and the filing of the worker’s compensation claim.
It says that when she returned to work, her physician had required medical restrictions and also accommodations to assist in carrying out her position as an off-line parts checker.
She claimed that Aisin required her to pay for any necessary equipment required for her job.
The suit also claimed that Aisin fired her because she filed the workers compensation claim.
The settlement was not published.
