A Corbin woman was killed Thursday morning in a three-car crash at the corner of South Main and 21st streets.
When police and EMS arrived at the scene shortly after 7 a.m., 28-year-old Amy Miller of Corbin was trapped inside her 1998 Toyota Camry and had to be extricated by the Corbin Fire Department.
She was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead by the Whitley County coroner.
Police said Miller was traveling toward town on South Main Street, also known as Kentucky 26, when she crossed the double yellow line, striking first a 2002 Ford pickup driven by 68-year-old Paul Mills of Corbin and then a 2004 Ford pickup driven by 25-year-old Adam Hoskins of Corbin.
Hoskins was treated for minor injuries and released from BRMC.
Corbin Police Lt. Rob Jones said several “white pills” were found inside Miller’s car, but at this time, police don’t know what kind of pills they are or if they had any role in causing the accident.
Jones said the pills will be sent for lab testing, and Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley plans to perform blood tests to see if Miller was under the influence during the time of the crash.
The investigation is continuing by Croley and Corporal Rob Hodge.
