Brothers drive to Ohio to face drug charges

Two brothers from the Louden community in Whitley County have reportedly turned themselves in on drug related charges out of Ohio.

Williamsburg Public Affairs Officer Shawn Jackson said 29-year-old Jonathan Taylor and his brother, 28-year-old Matthew Taylor, were wanted by the Warren County, Ohio Sheriff’s Office on charges of aggravated drug trafficking in oxycodine and permitting drug abuse.

The two were believed to be in Whitley County, and the Williamsburg Police Department was contacted by Ohio law enforcement about finding the pair. They live on Louden Road and their family has an auto body shop in Williamsburg which the brothers frequent.

“The DEA agent handling the investigation has been in contact with (Williamsburg) Chief (Wayne) Bird, and Chief Bird had actually been in contact with both of the Taylors,” Jackson said.

The brothers were expected to turn themselves in to Williamsburg police on Friday. Jackson said when they failed to do so, police believed they might have tried to flee the area. But Monday afternoon, WPD received word that they had gone to Dayton, Ohio to turn themselves in, possibly to avoid extradition procedures from Kentucky, Jackson said.

“We have gotten information that they are in the courthouse in Warren County Ohio to turn themselves in,” Jackson said.
