Two arrested at Laurel County Judicial Center

CORBIN — Times-Tribune Staff Report

The Laurel County Judicial Center was the site of two unrelated arrests Tuesday.

According to Laurel Sheriff John Root, Corporal Derrick Price arrested Christopher Sowards, 32, of Corbin.

He was arrested just before noon Tuesday on a Laurel County bench warrant issued through circuit court. The warrant called for his arrest and “probation revocation” concerning charges of second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense.

He remains jailed without bond in the Laurel County Correctional Center. Court Security Officer Larry Wells assisted Price with the arrest.

Also arrested on a bench warrant was 30-year-old Jacqueline Nikki Kreitzer, of Corbin. Root said Sheriff’s Bailiff Kenton Scharf arrested Kreitzer at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

The Laurel District bench warrant called for her arrest for child support. She remains jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center under an $800 cash bond. Bailiff Andrew Lawson assisted in this arrest.
