CORBIN —

By about noon Sunday the Laurel Rescue Squad reported that the body of Clarence Holmes, 32, of Berea is still missing in Laurel River Lake.
Holmes is presumed to be dead.
He was last seen Tuesday, July 10, as he helped people moor their boats as a severe storm approached.
His empty pontoon boat was found near a small island near Marsh Branch.
On Sunday, about nine rescue squad personnel in two boats were working in that area, said London Fire Chief Lester VanHook.
Two people were in a third boat with a search and rescue dog inside it.
Divers from the rescue squad have been swimming underwater seeking Holmes, and will continue through next week, VanHook added.
VanHook said the rescue group from Boone County on the Ohio River was expected last week but wasn’t able to arrive because the group was called to work in the northern Kentucky area.
He expects the group will arrive here Thursday and Friday. VanHook said a decision will be made as to whether the search will continue at the end of the week after the Boone County squad is finished on the lake.
