CORBIN — By Carl Keith Greene / Staff Writer
Producer L. Henry Dowell seeks a large cast of adults and children for the Gusto Theatre Company’s staging of “So, Who Was That Masked Guy Anyway?”
Auditions of the “send-up of all things cowboy” will be heard on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 23 and 24 at the theatre at 206 Main Street in London from 4 to 7 p.m.
The auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
For more information, call 864-8786.
Dowell’s play tells the story of Ernie.
Ernie is the grandson of the original Masked Cowboy.
Grandpa, who spent his life as a lawman fighting for truth, justice and the cowboy way in the old west, is getting along in years and looks for a replacement.
Could that be Ernie?
Could be, but Ernie has some problems. The big one is, he doesn’t know how to be a cowboy, has never seen a cow and is allergic to milk.
And, it can’t be said he knows one end of a horse from another.
It’s off to cowboy school for Ernie to learn the basics of cowboyology. There he’ll learn to ride and rope, chew and spit and the perfect “Yee-Haw!”
In the meantime, a band of no-good outlaws has captured the good people of Gabby Gulch and President Theodore Roosevelt.
It becomes the job of Ernie and his friends to save the day. So, watch out. Who knows what’s going to happen?
