CORBIN —

A small brush fire near Helton Branch Road west of Barbourville has Kentucky’s Division of Forestry looking for an arsonist.
Woodbine Fire Chief Rick Fore said the fire was on Paint Hill.
“No structures were damaged,” Fore said. “(But) three acres were burned before the fire was contained.”
He said witnesses reported seeing someone in the area prior to the fire. “They saw a new black truck,” Fore said. “But they couldn’t see how many people were in the vehicle.”
He said witnesses did see a suspect walk outside of the truck minutes before the fire was reported.
The forestry service continues to investigate this fire, and anyone with any information is urged to either call the arson hotline number at 1-800-27-ARSON, or call the forestry service at 1-800-866-0504.
