KSP starting second Citizens Police Academy April 20th

Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London is now accepting applications for the 2010 Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy is slated to begin on Tuesday, April 20 and will conclude June 29.

Students will meet Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m., where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations and drug investigations.   

The academy will be held in the downstairs classroom at the Laurel County Health Department Building at 525 Whitley Street in London.  Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 at (606) 878-6622.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 16 and can also be obtained by visiting http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post11.htm.

Anyone 18 years of age, or older, living within the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 District is welcome to apply. The KSP Post 11 District consists of the following counties: Laurel, Clay, Rockcastle, Pulaski, Whitley, McCreary and Wayne.  There is no cost to attend and participants must attend 80 percent of the classes to graduate.
