Wednesday’s street work on both Main Street and Kentucky Avenue will continue today (Friday), according to city officials.
Corbin City Manager Marlon Sams said Wednesday state workers will be putting down a temporary base to fill in the soft spots on both streets. He added the work done will get both Kentucky Avenue and Main Street level for driving this upcoming winter.
“This spring, the state will come back to mill up both streets and repave the two streets,” Sams noted.
The street work is part of a state project to repave both streets, starting at the intersection of Main and 18th Streets at Peach Corner, and ending at the Master Street Bridge at U. S. 25W.
Both Sams and Mayor Willard McBurney ask motorists to be patient, allow extra time and possibly use alternate routes while the work continues.
