A Canadatown resident was arrested after police were told he threatened people with a firearm.
Williamsburg Police Officer Brandon Prewitt responded along with Kentucky State Police Trooper Les Moses.
Prewitt noticed a marijuana plant growing outside the residence next to the four-wheeler which Canada was on when the officers arrived.
Prewitt also noticed an ATV trail leading to a heavily weeded area. Prewitt followed the trail and found five more marijuana plants, which he seized.
Williamsburg Police Public Affairs Officer Shawn Jackson said it was determined through an investigation that the ATV was used in the cultivation of the marijuana plants. The ATV was seized by Williamsburg police. Jackson said he hopes through court proceedings that the ATV will be given to Williamsburg police in the use of future marijuana eradications.
Williamsburg Officer Brandon Prewitt arrested Jimmy R. Canada, 33, of Canadatown, for cultivation of marijuana over five plants. Canada was also served a bench warrant for flagrant non-support, increasing the count in the roundup begun last week for those who have neglected to pay child support around the Tri-County to 19.
