A Lexington man was indicted Friday on three counts of sexual abuse of a minor and a fourth count of using a cellular telephone to induce the minor to meet him.
Steven T. Smith, 22, was charged on two counts of second degree rape and a third count of sodomy of a 13-year old.
Twenty three more were indicted by the grand jury that met Monday.
One couple, Michael Paul Smith, 26, and Christena Hacker, 28, both of Philpot Road in London, were charged together in three indictments with seven counts of passing cold checks and she was also charged alone in another indictment.
He was also charged persistent felony offense (PFO) in three of the indictments.
One indictment charges them with theft by deception over $300 and theft by deception between $500 and $10,000 by passing cold checks at Shop ‘Til You Drop in London. He is charged with second-degree PFO.
A second indictment charges them with two counts of theft by deception at London Tire Center between $500 and $10,000 and one count of theft by deception less than $500 by passing cold checks. He is charged with second-degree PFO in that indictment.
A third indictment charges Hacker alone with theft by deception at Girlie Goodies of more than $300 by passing cold checks.
And the fourth indictment charges the pair with two counts of theft by deception at Martin’s Auto Parts between $500 and $10,000 by passing cold checks and he was charged with second degree PFO.
Others indicted include Ricky Allen, 50, of London, third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, two counts of theft of items worth more than $300 at Grace Fellowship Church in London and being a PFO. In a second indictment, he was charged with third-degree burglary and theft of money and tools worth more than $300 and second degree PFO.
Mark Turner, 26, of Manchester, first-degree bail jumping by failing to appear on felony charges in Laurel Court and second-degree PFO.
Anthony Poynter, 28, of London first degree possession of a controlled substance and first-degree promoting contraband by introducing methamphetamine into the Laurel County Detention Center.
James Bowling, 41, and Christine Mills, 39, of Cannon, possession of possessing methamphetamine precursors. He was also charged with driving while intoxicated and she with public intoxication.
Jeff House, of London, theft of a ring valued at between $500 and $10,000.
Brandy Chaboneau, of London, and Michael Johnson, 21, theft of property valued at more than $10,000 including furniture, tools and a Pontiac Trans Am.
Georgette Tucker, 31, of Hazard, theft of more than $300 worth of jewelry.
Jonah Sutherland, 29, of Bimble, theft of identity and public intoxication.
Christopher Joseph, 22, of London, theft by deception by passing a cold check to pay for more than $300 worth of jewelry.
Lisa Thompson, 51, of East Bernstadt, receiving stolen jewelry worth at least $10,000.
Joseph Anthony Gibson, 28, of London, fraudulent use of a credit card for purchases between $500 and $10,000 within six months and theft of identity.
Joshua Musick, 20, and Keith Jones, 19, of London, were charged with first-degree criminal mischief.
Tim Alsip, 32, and Linda Alsip, of Corbin, and Billie Shelton, 26, McKee, first-degree criminal mischief.
Charles Maxey, 51, of Corbin, flagrant non-support.
Timothy Wade Partin, 40, Norwood, Ohio, flagrant non-support.
Jim Riley Allen, 29, of Corbin, flagrant non-support.
And Gayle Jeffrey, 54, of Pittsburg, assistance program fraud by fraudulently getting $10,858 worth of Food Stamp beneifty to which he was not entitled.
