Corbin woman killed in collision

Two-vehicle crash happened on I-75 in Grant County

GRANT COUNTY — A two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon on I-75 in northern Kentucky has claimed the life of a Corbin woman.

The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m. at mile marker 165 of northbound I-75 in Grant County, north of Dry Ridge.

Nora Green, 28, of Corbin, was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Jacob Evens, 29, of Owensboro. According to Kentucky State Police in Dry Ridge, Evens lost control of his black 1999 Honda four-door car and struck a white 2011 Ford Ranger pickup truck parked on the right shoulder of I-75. The truck was owned by O’Reilly Auto Parts, and was driven by Danny Marsh, 67, of Boone County. Marsh had stopped to assist on an unrelated collision on the interstate, and was not in the truck at the time of the accident.

Green was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grant County coroner.

Evens was injured and taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence for treatment. Marsh was not injured.

According to the Associated Press, police did not say if the accident was related to the rain, snow and winter weather that was falling over much of Kentucky on Wednesday.

The collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police in Dry Ridge.
