CORBIN —

At the end of Monday’s Williamsburg Council meeting, Mayor Roddy Harrison talked about his recent absence from the mayor’s office.
“I had a second stent put in about two weeks ago,” Harrison said, adding that there was still no permanent damage to his heart.
He had his first stent surgery on June 27 after having a heart attack.
“I’ve dropped 40 pounds, the doctor wants 25 more off, but I am exercising, feeling better and doing great, “ Harrison said, adding that he was eager to get back to work and wanted to say “thanks” to all the well-wishers.
“It was just a little set back for just a little bit, but I am good to go,” Harrison said.
He also wanted to offer a little bit of advice to others out there who may be reticent to have their regular checkups.
“Its a good idea to not be like I was. I didn’t go get physicals or checkups and I should have. Listen to your body people, get your checkups,” Harrison said.
