CORBIN —

Students who attend classes in the Corbin Independent Schools district have a couple of days off for the rest of this week.
That is because officials announced the district would be closed today (Thursday) and Friday due to illness.
A spokesperson at the district’s Central Office on Roy Kidd Avenue confirmed the closings Wednesday afternoon.
Corbin Independent’s closing is the second school district to close this week due to sickness. On Tuesday, Whitley County Schools announced they, too, would close due to illness. The school district closed classes Wednesday, and like Corbin Independent, Whitley County Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday.
