Wednesday, the Knox County Fiscal Court approved an ordinance regarding $7 million general obligation bonds or notes for the Knox County Hospital.
County Judge/Executive J.M. Hall explained that the county approved the ordinance “to get notes if it is needed.”
“We’re not actually borrowing any money, just getting it in place if for some reason that the management group that’s on the ground gave it back to the county or couldn’t fulfill their duty to be able to get a management group back in,” he said.
The ordinance was approved on its first reading on Tuesday and the second reading Wednesday.
Another ordinance was one banning the sale of synthetic marijuana on its first reading.
The court also approved resolutions providing for Barbourville, $10,000 for its fire department and $10,000 for its police department.
The court also approved the County Attorney’s delinquent tax report, the County Clerk’s budget and his quarterly report, approved budget transfers and its claims report.
