POLICE ROUNDUP: Two arrested for intoxication

LAUREL COUNTY — A visit to a southern Laurel County store by two Corbin residents this past Sunday morning ended up with the two visiting jail after being arrested for intoxication.

Ricky E. Sharp, 47, of Corbin, and Carolyn F. Hubbard, 46, of Corbin, were arrested by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, and were held in the Laurel County Detention Center in London. Sharp was charged with public intoxication-controlled substances, while Hubbard was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.

According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, Deputy Milton Storm was dispatched to the store, located 10 miles south of London, after a complaint of a man and woman at the store staying there for several hours, and who appeared to be acting suspicious.

Deputy Storm arrived at the store at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, observed the two and after investigating, arrested both Sharp and Hubbard.
