The first swine flu clinic for the Tri-County has been announced by the Whitley County Health Department.
The free H1N1 flu shot clinic will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Whitley County Middle School cafeteria on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tamara Johnson, public health nurse supervisor, said the health department has received some 800 doses and expects more to arrive late next week.
The injections will be done in the cafeteria of the school.
The target groups for this clinic are pregnant women, people who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age, health care and emergency personnel, anyone from 6 months through 24 years of age, and anyone 25 through 64 years of age with certain chronic medical conditions or weakened immune systems.
The health department asks those who are not in these target groups to “please be patient as more vaccine will be available at a later date.”
