Two children found at residence taken into protective custody

Seven Laurel residents were arrested Saturday after Kentucky State Police reportedly found an active methamphetamine lab.

Police responded to a report of a possible meth lab at a residence on Old State Road in Laurel County.

After investigation, police allegedly discovered the meth lab along with several items used in the production of meth. Seven adults were reportedly present at the residence along with two children, ages 2 and 11 years old.

Trooper Don Sivils proceeded to arrest the following seven people: Earl E. Yaden, 42, of Lily; Tina J. Nantz, 44, of Lily; Kenneth W. Taylor, 22, of London; Jeremy Jones, 22, of Lily; Dion K. Mayne, 21, of Lily; David Jones, 25, of Lily; and Brittany K. Yaden, 21, of East Bernstadt.

Yaden, Nantz, Mayne and David Jones were all charged with first-degree manufacturing methamphetamine. All seven arrested were charged with fourth-degree controlled substance endangerment to a child. Mayne also received a drug paraphernalia charge while David Jones received a first-degree, first-offense possession of a controlled substance charge, along with a drug paraphernalia charge.

The Laurel County Department of Families and Children was contacted after the two children were taken into protective custody.

Trooper Sivils is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Troopers Mike King and Chris Roberts, Sergeant Steve Walker, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, the Laurel County Department of Public Safety and the Laurel County Department of Families and Children.
