The Knox Central Youth Service Center is taking donations for students who have been referred to participate in the service center’s Christmas Holiday Program.
In past years, approximately 40 students have participated but that number already has grown to more than 50 students this year, organizers said.
“Our community, officials and other individuals over the years have been extremely generous in donating to this cause and we know that we have provided students with clothing, food and some much needed fun that probably doesn’t happen with these individuals,” stated KCHS YSC Coordinator Kevin Buchanan.
Sponsorship per student is $100.
Students will go to JCPenney on a school field trip with student mentors to use the $100 on clothing items. JCPenney will give a 20-percent discount on all items on top of all sales or promotions. Students and their mentors will also go to the Dixie Stampede dinner and show in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
