Man wanted for auto theft arrested

Times-Tribune Staff Report

A man wanted for auto theft from Indiana was arrested Friday in Williamsburg, according to a report from Kentucky State Police.

James Dean Simpson, 46, of Corbin, was arrested and lodged in Whitley County Detention Center on a charge of being a fugitive from another state.

At the North 6th Street residence, Trooper Leslie Moses discovered a vehicle that was reportedly stolen out of Meriweather County, Ga. The vehicle, which was a blue 2004 Dodge Ram, is valued at $20,000.

Trooper Moses was assisted by officers from the KSP Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and the Williamsburg Police Department.

Trooper Moses is continuing the investigation.
