Domestic disturbance leads to suspected meth lab discovery

Times-Tribune Staff Report

A domestic disturbance in southern Laurel County led to the discovery of a suspected meth lab.

On Sunday, at about 8:45 p.m., Kentucky State Police troopers responded to a home on Douglas Boulevard for a report of a domestic disturbance.

At the home, officers found a man and a woman involved in the complaint in a bedroom, along with two suspected one-step meth labs in plain view.

Trooper Richie Baxter arrested Claude T. Powell Jr., 44, of Corbin, and Brittany Yaden, 21, of Lily and charged both with manufacturing methamphetamine.

Both individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Trooper Baxter is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Trooper Mike King and the Laurel County Department of Public Safety.
