CORBIN —

A 63-year-old woman was trapped in her SUV following a two-car crash Tuesday along Fifth Street Road east of its intersection with KY 1259.
The crash happened before noon as the woman, Brenda Frederick, was driving east in a Lexus GX470 and struck a westbound GMC Jimmy driven by Blane Kretzer, 38, police said.
Police said Kretzer had lost control of his vehicle after coming around a curve, causing him to cross the centerline and drive into the path of Frederick’s vehicle.
The impact caused Frederick’s vehicle to overturn onto its side.
Frederick was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center after rescuers extracted her from her vehicle, police said. Her condition wasn’t known.
Kretzer declined medical treatment, police said.
Police said wet roads and worn tires on Kretzer’s vehicle may have contributed to the crash.
