The Laurel County Fiscal Court approved an agreement for money from the state’s Rural Secondary Roads Program Monday.
The state department of transportation will provide some $275,000 to repave county roads and highways.
The court also voted to advertise for a bid on the purchase of a tractor and boom mower.
The court approved the closure of Mertie Lane, returning it to private state.
The lane once connected with three other pieces of land, but the owner of one of the pieces of the land had purchased the other two.
State laws call for a road to have at least two separately owned pieces of land.
Mertie Lane is off Moore Road that connects to KY 1193 in the Holly Bay area, which connects with KY 192.
