Woman arrested for selling pills in W’burg motel room

Faces charge of first-degree trafficking controlled substance

CORBIN — By Megan Williamson / Staff Writer

A Georgia woman was arrested Thursday after she admitted to police she sold pills from a Williamsburg motel room, according to Williamsburg Police Department Public Affairs Officer Shawn Jackson.

Kristen L. Moss, 25, of Marietta, Ga., drew the suspicion of motel employees after they saw several people coming and going from her room, Jackson said.

Moss was asked by motel employees to leave and was refunded the money she paid for the room. Moss left the motel and was driving north on I-75 when she was pulled over by Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Jarboe at the 18-mile marker. Williamsburg Police Officer Brandon White arrived and arrested her, according to Jackson.

Jackson said Moss allowed her vehicle to be searched. White discovered narcotics prescribed to Moss by a Georgia pain clinic.

White also recovered and seized between $4,000 to $5,000 in cash along with the narcotics and Moss’ car.

Jackson said Moss admitted to White she had been selling pills while she was at the motel.

Jackson believes Moss has connections to Williamsburg and knew it would be a good place to make money from the pills.

Jackson said the pills have been sent to Kentucky State Police Crime Lab where they will be tested and identified.

Moss is jailed at Whitley County Detention Center where she faces a charge of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance, first offense, and is on a $25,000 cash bond, according to Jackson.
