At least seventeen parents who failed to pay child support have been arrested by police who hope to net a total of 60 arrests, according to Williamsburg Police Department Public Affairs officer Shawn Jackson.
The arrests began at 8 p.m. Monday and continued until 2 a.m. Tuesday and involved police from Williamsburg, Corbin, Knox County Sheriff’s Department, Kentucky State Police and employees of Whitley County Detention Center, Jackson said.
Williamsburg Police Detective Bobby Freeman and Whitley County Attorney’s Office organized the roundup.
Freeman continues to work with all agencies around the area to try and serve the remaining warrants, according to Jackson.
Those arrested as of late Tuesday are:
Paul C. Brown, 39, Corbin, charged with flagrant non-support.
Stacy W. Croley, 33, Siler, charged with contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order.
Angela L. Obrien, 32, Jellico, charged with contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order.
Jerry W. Young, 52, Williamsburg, charged with contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order.
Clyde D. Shepherd, 25, Keavy, charged with contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order.
James P. Creech, 33, Corbin, charged with serving bench warrant for court, flagrant non support, contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order.
Stanley E. Cureton, 39, Williamsburg, charged with contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order.
Raymond L. Murray, 40, Williamsburg, charged with flagrant non-support.
Larry Ray Partin, 36, Williamsburg, charged with contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order.
Glenda Murray, 29, Williamsburg, charged with failure to appear, citation for misdemeanor.
Wayne T. Mowery, 39, Williamsburg, charged with contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order, flagrant non-support.
Timothy W. Ferrell, 38, Corbin, charged with flagrant non-support.
Kenneth B. Webb, 60, Frakes, charged with failure to appear, citation for misdemeanor.
Cynthia S. Knight, 40, Williamsburg, charged with flagrant non-support.
Gene D. Turner, 24, Williamsburg, contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order.
Breana Jo Carpenter, 36, Pineville, charged with flagrant non-support, contempt of court, libel/slander, resistance to order.
Vicky D. Carr, 42, Gray, charged with flagrant non support.
