If watching the Super Bowl alone may not be your cup of tea, there are some places you can go to be with other football fans.

Or, there are a few tailgating parties to whet your appetite for football before the game.

At least two churches in Corbin and one in London are sponsoring Super Bowl parties.

Central Baptist Church on Kentucky Avenue in Corbin will host football fans in its Christian Life Center beginning at 6 p.m.

Along with a large screen TV, there will be refreshments and games for adults and young people. For information, call 528-6650.

Also in Corbin, Grace on the Hill United Methodist Church on Falls Road will open its party at 6 p.m., said Student Minister Drew Mahan.

Along with refreshments, there will be video games for all ages.

Mahan said a half-time devotional period will also be observed.

In London, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) on North Main will sponsor a Big Game Party & Haiti Kit Drive.

The event also starts at 6 p.m.

The church’s youth sponsor the event.

Along with football game watching, the kids will lead young people and adults in assembling much needed hygiene and baby care kits to be sent to Haiti.

The hygiene kit will consist of hand towels about 16 by 28 inches, wide-tooth combs, nail clippers, bath sized soap in wrappers, toothbrushes in original packaging, band-aids (six per kit) and gallon sized plastic bags with zip closures.

The baby care kit items for children younger than 12 months include cloth diapers (six per kit), two T-shirts/undershirts, two washcloths, two gowns/sleepers, two diaper pins, sweater/sweatshirts and two receiving blankets.
