A Corbin home was destroyed by a fire Saturday that was reported about 10:35 p.m. while the Corbin Redhounds football team played.
When Corbin firefighters arrived at 304 Ruby St., flames could be seen along a portion of the roof, the back of the house and in the detached garage, according to the Corbin Fire Department.
A fire official said it took about 10 minutes to extinguish the flames, although firefighters remained at the home until just after 1 a.m. extinguishing hot spots.
The home is believed to be a total loss, a fire official said. The cause of the fire isn’t known.
Firefighters from both Corbin fire stations as well as off-duty personnel responded to the fire.
No firefighters were injured and nobody was inside the house when firefighters arrived.
