The man pictured and a partner are accused of scamming the Pilot Travel Center out of $1,300 Friday, and the Williamsburg Police Department is seeking the public’s help. “We don’t believe they’re local, they may be doing this up and down I-75. If anyone can identify the man or has reported a crime similar to this, they’re encouraged to contact us at 606 549-6017 or 549-3126,” said Officer Shawn Jackson. According to Jackson, the two men likely used an “improvised dollar device” to obtain pull-tab lottery tickets from a machine inside the travel center. “This was well rehearsed,” he added.
